It's that time of year again!

DID YOU KNOW that Canada has emerged as a world leader in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields? We couldn’t be more excited to come alongside the growing movement of our country to offer a STEM based kids camp this summer! At Kids Science Camp your children will learn about faith and God’s love for them as we explore all the amazing aspects of his creation -- through science!

We are so excited this year at Delta Church to offer TWO unique summer camp experiences to suit the needs of your family. Because there are extra parameters for us (and you!) to consider this year, please continue reading to get a full understanding of what each camp will look like this year. We hope you join with us for an incredible year of camp!

Option 1: At-home Camp

Cost: $15 per family which includes all the video content, access to pre-show and daily contests, and Supply Bucket with ONE SET of supplies so you can follow along at home with the science activities. If you are interested in additional sets of supplies (if, for example, you want each child to have the ingredients for each activity instead of just one for the family) then we will add $5 to your camp fee.

How do I get my content?

It is so simple to participate in this at-home kids camp. Sign up right here online with the email address you would like to use to access the content. Provide the number of children you plan on having “attend” the camp, as well as their ages (so we can offer the most age-appropriate supplies). If you would like more than one “Set” of supplies for the science activities, let us know how many extra sets you would like with your supplies.

What does it include?

  • Pre-show: Each day we will offer a LIVE pre-show that both the in-home and in-person camps will participate in! We will also have contests posted every day that you can enter to show off your projects, and win prizes!
  • Music: Each day there will be a new music video with an original song written from a verse of the Bible. There is also an action video if you or the kids would like to learn actions, and you can also download mp3s of the music if you want a copy.
  • Science Devotion: A 10 minute video demonstrating a science experiment, while listening to a teaching. There are also optional pieces to read/discuss as a family.
  • Sink or Float Contest: Each day we provide 3 sink or float videos, during which your kids will have to guess what will sink and what will float!
  • Science Project: Using the supplies delivered before camp, a 15(ish) minute video will guide you through a fun science project that you can choose to participate in for yourself, or simply watch.
  • Extras: Play a science game, make a fun snack, enter into the daily contest, or listen to some more music. You can choose however you want to end the day!

Why would I choose this camp?

  • You can have peace of mind that you and your family are only coming in contact with precisely who you choose. Our buckets will be assembled and delivered under strict sanitary precautions.
  • If you are unable to attend our in-person camp due to a scheduling conflict, or you prefer a different time for your camp experience, then this is the best choice for you! Once you sign up, you will get access to all the online material immediately. From then you can choose to do your camp whenever you like! You actually have a whole year to do this camp with your family. If you choose to do an earlier time, we can arrange to drop the Supply Bucket off early so you will have everything you need when you begin.
  • This camp is designed specifically for an at-home experience. This means that there are many ways for you to customize your experience to suit your needs. Your content includes ideas/instructions for science games and themed snacks.
  • The content is provided right on the internet (nothing to download!) so that your kids can easily watch the videos. Alternatively, you can create your own mini science camp at home by dressing up, making some fun decorations, participating in the pre-shows and the bonus activities, or even doing the camp with your neighbour or extended family!
  • You design the camp.

Option 2: In-Person Camp

Cost: The cost is an easy $25 per child.

How do I get my content?

You sign up (here), and you show up! Doors open at 12:30pm for pre-show, and camp starts at 1:00pm and goes until 4:00pm at Delta Church.

What does it include?

This camp experience includes a live version of all the video content from the at-home camp. We have also added themed snacks, incredible games, and some special science guests!

Why would I choose this camp?

This camp option is closer to the traditional Kids Camp or Vacation Bible School model that we have done before. It offers a chance for kids to get out of the house and get moving, the parents can have a breather for a couple hours in the afternoon, and they come home learning new things about science and God -- and maybe they’ll have some new friends too!

What about Covid 19?

We care about the safety and wellbeing of your children and family. We will have strict Covid-protocol in place for the in-person camp. Please read thoroughly and make sure you agree with the procedures before signing up.

  • At least one parent or other trusted adult is required to come in person for the drop off of their child each day.
  • We will ask the following questions to you and your child upon entering the building. It is required for you to answer "no" to these questions or else your child will not be permitted into camp.
    • Are you feeling sick? (Examples include a new cough, headache, weakness, fever, difficulty breathing, etc.)
    • Have you travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days?
    • Have you had any contact with someone with confirmed or probable Covid-19 in the past 14 days?
  • Each person will sanitize their hands upon entering the building.
  • Students will be social distanced
  • Students will be required to wash hands frequently and washing/ hand sanitizer stations will spaced throughout the facility
  • Staff/volunteers will be required to wear masks
  • Disposable masks will be provided each day to anyone who would like one though they are not mandatory.
  • Snacks will be prepared by a volunteer with strict sanitization instructions, and will be served to each child NOT buffet style.

Lastly, we want you to know that we will be limited to 50 people in the building including volunteers. We will not go over this number so please sign up as soon as possible to reserve your numbers and help us plan!

We hope you feel comfortable and confident that you child will have an incredible camp experience this year. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out; we would love to chat! We look forward to seeing you soon!
